Reliable, Renewable Energy for NWA Businesses

Northwest Arkansas is Going Solar. You Should, Too!

In recent years, the City of Rogers and City of Fayetteville have advanced new and exciting energy efficiency projects with heavy focus on solar initiatives. In January of 2018, the City of Fayetteville adopted an Energy Action Plan that laid out goals to make the City a more energy efficient and sustainable community. Among the high-level goals stated in that plan was to convert all City facilities to 100% clean energy by 2030 – and citywide by 2050.

With this vision of a more energy efficient and resilient future, the opportunity for businesses in Northwest Arkansas to join this vision, has never been better – with the very real benefit of strengthening their own energy efficiency and resiliency.

And there is no better solar partner in NWA than Seal Solar that can help your business join this vision. Whether it’s helping businesses and communities go solar, including Washington County with their 5,400-panel solar array, or making charging more accessible by installing electric vehicle chargers around the region, Seal is deeply committed to NWA’s sustainable and energy efficient growth.

Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

Through the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law August 16, 2022, a 30% investment tax credit (ITC) is available for businesses through the year 2032. The incentive drops to 26% in 2033, decreases to 22% in 2034, then drops permanently to 10% for commercial projects beginning January 1, 2035.

More details about the ITC are available here.

Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS)

Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) is a method of depreciation in which a business’s investments in solar property can be recovered through tax deductions. MACRS benefits can be taken all in the first year of system operation. Taken together, the federal tax credit and depreciation can reduce commercial solar project costs by about 50% within the first year!

USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP)

FAQs

What types of commercial buildings can be solar-powered?
Our rooftop commercial solar systems can be installed on most industrial, warehouse, commercial, retail, and agricultural buildings. We’ll have a structural engineer come inspect the facility and roof closely before finalizing a system plan. We also offer ground-mounted and carport systems for our commercial clients depending on the size of your future system and the space available at your facility.
Are rebates and incentives guaranteed?
States may change their rebate and incentive programs at any time, so there is no guarantee. However, Seal Solar is happy to evaluate and help you apply for any available grant, rebate, or incentive program for which your business qualifies at the time of construction.
What happens to the excess energy I collect?
Depending on where you live and how your system is built, you may be able to store the power by using batteries for emergency backup power, demand shavings, or sell it back to the grid to offset your electricity costs.
My original installer is no longer in business. Can Seal Solar service my system?
Yes we can! Fill out our Request Service form and one of our Service Team Members will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
