Why Use Solar for Manufacturing Facilities?

Is your manufacturing facility thinking about making the switch to solar? We  can help you design and implement a system to reduce your energy costs and ensure steady supply backup power—even when outages occur

Why Use Solar for Manufacturing Facilities?

Investing in solar helps businesses of all sizes  slash their utility bills and become energy independent. For manufacturers, these benefits can equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings each year.

Net Metering

It’s no secret manufacturing uses a tremendous amount of energy. That’s why switching to solar drastically lowers your electricity bills.

And, if you  produce more power than you need on a given day, you can sell that extra power back to the electric company, further reducing your costs. In fact, some clients have completely eliminated their power bills!

Environmentally Conscious

Solar drastically reduces your dependence on fossil fuels and other non-renewable energy sources—creating cleaner air and water for your business and community.

Available Tax Credits and Savings

Federal Investment Tax Credit (FITC)

The Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is available to commercial solar systems. All projects will receive a minimum 30% tax credit calculated from the total project cost. Some projects will qualify for additional bonus tax credits if the project is located in an Energy Community (10%) AND/OR a Low Income Community (10%). These credits are stackable.

Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS)

The Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery System (MACRS) is a method of depreciation that allows projects to recover their investment’s tax deductions within the first year of operation. When used with the FITC, projects can  reduce them  by 50%!

USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP)

Depending on the products produced and/or location, small businesses and agricultural producers may qualify for the USDA Rural Energy for America Program, which covers up to 50% of total solar system costs. Seal Solar is happy to help complete and submit the paperwork. Our acceptance rate is 100%!

Manufacturing Solar Panel Installation Process

Site Evaluation

We conduct feasibility and cost-benefit analyses of the property, including electrical usage, electrical infrastructure, and the desired level of energy independence.

System Design

Our in-house engineers and electricians design a custom system to meet the  facility’s specific needs.

Grants

We submit grant proposals to the USDA or other agencies to secure as much funding as possible for eligible projects.

Installation

Once approved, we begin the installation process, which takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the size and complexity of  the system.

FAQs

Are factory roofs suitable for solar panels?

Factories often have large, flat roofs with plenty of open space, which are ideal for solar panels.

Does solar power make sense for manufacturers?

As fuel and electricity prices continue to rise, manufacturers will be faced with higher overhead and operational costs. Solar can drastically reduce these expenses.

I’m located in an industrial park. Can I get solar panels?

Industrial parks tend to be free of tall trees and buildings  that can block sunlight. If you have large, open concrete spaces, you may even be able to set up  additional solar panels on the ground.

Our expert engineers are happy to help you design and build a custom  for your facility.
