About Seal Solar: Seal Solar is a leading Arkansas-based solar energy solutions firm. It brings together the latest technology and a certified team to help homeowners, businesses, government entities and farmers control their rising energy costs and save money.
Brief Description: The Solar Design and Engineering Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision, technical and personal development, and deliverable oversight of a team of Solar System Designers and Engineers of various skill levels. The position relies heavily on electrical, as well as structural and mechanical engineering concepts and calculations, with a focus on efficiency and automation. Additional (critical) “ownership” responsibilities include pre-contract, post-contract, consulting, providing single line diagrams, material procurement, utility processes, creating project budgets, negotiating product pricing, and managing all projects to come in, at, or below budget.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work closely with sales to offer best solution for each project, including pricing
• Oversee the completion of solar design and engineering blueprints
• Work with utility companies on project coordination
• Work with team throughout project development and construction
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors throughout project development and implementation
• Actively manage the performance and goals of team members
• Drive safety, quality, and efficiency within the team and through designs
• Mentor, motivate and supervise direct reports to achieve goals and objectives
• Work cross-functionally with sales, and construction teams to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met
• Act with a high degree of conscientiousness, integrity, truthfulness, fairness, and honesty
• Meet goals in a motivated and self-directed way; works hard with limited supervision
• Desire to support team members in a way that is detail-oriented and accurate
• In-state travel occasional to frequent
• Other duties as assigned
Reports to: COO
Qualifications: 4-year degree, 3-5 years’ experience in the solar industry designing commercial solar arrays; preferred experience in various solar design software, pricing tools, AutoCAD, and Excel; experience reading and understanding technical specifications and construction documents; experience with professional oral and written communication; healthy understanding of State regulations, and passion for client satisfaction, while making the world a better place. NABCEP certification is a plus
